International Customer Success Manager for a Copenhagen grid-tech start-up
Are you a customer-facing project manager who thrives on paving the way to success for B2B customers? Do you speak fluent German and English - and perhaps Spanish/Italian? Do you see yourself in a fast-growing start-up with an international team that is securing critical electrical infrastructure?
Then you could be Oktogrid's new Customer Success Manager!
About Oktogrid
Oktogrid helps secure critical infrastructure by bringing power transformers online for higher reliability and a more sustainable operation. Oktogrid's sensor solution significantly accelerates the path to getting access to the right data to support operators with the necessary insights for their decision-making.
Founded in 2020. Oktogrid has the continued backing of major European investors, including ABB Electrification and Elewit Ventures, and works with a wide range of grid operators across Europe. The company has 14 employees, most of whom are based at the Copenhagen office, with sales colleagues based in Germany and the Netherlands. Oktogrid also works with an international development team. English is the company language.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, who also heads up sales, you will ensure that Oktogrid's customers get off to a strong start and support them on their journey as they continue to benefit of the value from the solution. As the Customer Success Manager, you will follow each new customer closely throughout the first 3-9 months - from installation workshops to confidently onboarding onto the Transformer Intelligence Platform.
You will remain their trusted point of contact for the entire customer journey, while your experience in project coordination will ensure that the right expertise from your colleagues is involved whenever needed. Your job is not to acquire new customers, but to build strong relationships with existing ones, identify new needs and plant the seeds for further collaboration. You will be based at the Copenhagen office, with occasional travel.
Your primary responsibilities:
Running a structured onboarding process for new customers - from project kick-off workshops to onboarding onto the Transformer Intelligence Platform
Following up closely with customers and holding regular check-ins to ensure that they get the value they expect
Owning a portfolio of Danish and international customers, with a focus on German-speaking markets
Engaging with a rich map of stakeholders within each customer organisation - for example, the operations managers in each region - so that the solution becomes part of their day-to-day work
Bringing in Oktogrid's technical experts when customers need in-depth answers about transformers, deeper data analytics or software integrations
Identifying new needs and opportunities - such as additional analytics modules and reports - and passing them on to the product and operations teams
Capturing customer feedback and success stories for Product and Marketing
Building and continuously improving Oktogrid's Customer Success process and playbook
About you
A background in utilities or within energy is a plus, but not a requirement - Oktogrid's experts are at hand when in-depth expertise is needed. What matters most is that you are excellent at building trust, maintaining close dialogue with customers and picking up on when to involve your extended team at Oktogrid. Having previously worked within energy, telecoms, IT, SaaS or other B2B industries in which you have delivered complex solutions to large customers are relevant fields of experience. We envisage that you have:
5-10 years' experience in Customer Success or related customer-facing roles with B2B customers
Experience of working with structured customer processes - ideally gained in a medium-sized company where you have had broad responsibility
Experience in delivering complex solutions and managing long-term customer relationships, rather than having ambitions of driving transactional sales
Technical understanding and the ability to explain complex solutions clearly to expert as well as non-expert stakeholders
A proactive approach - you bring your own ideas to the table and take ownership of improving the way things are done
Genuine curiosity about customers' needs - you spot opportunities that create further value for them
The drive to succeed in a fast-growing start-up as part of a high-performing, international team - and a preference for working from the office in close contact with customers and colleagues
Fluent in German and English, written and spoken. Spanish and Italian would be a strong advantage, as many customers prefer to communicate in their own language
Experience with utilities and an understanding of asset management practices would be an advantage, but is not a requirement
A valid permit to live and work in Denmark (EU/EEA citizenship or a Danish work permit)
Oktogrid offers
A key role with real influence in a company actively driving a meaningful climate impact
Office-based work with flexible working hours, the option of working from home one day a week and a partly paid company lunch scheme every day
A modern office space in Copenhagen at the border between Vesterbro and Frederiksberg, located close to green areas and a vibrant hub where innovation meets great city culture
A salary based on qualifications, and a company-wide bonus scheme
